WHO WE ARE

JODI VAUTRIN

Founder, Director of Experience Design

Jodi has built a 20+ year career on a degree in graphic design and an early passion for user interface design. She honed and adapted her skills against a rapidly evolving technology and information landscape where the only constant is change.

Throughout her career, she has applied her experience in designing interactive, user-centered work for companies ranging from small, digitally-focused design studios to larger advertising agencies that wanted help breaking into the digital space. This gave her exposure to clients such as Volkswagen, PUMA, Fidelity Investments, Subway, Talbots, and The Smithsonian.

After working for companies and clients of all sizes and approaches, she launched her freelance company, studio multi, in 2009. It suited her self-starting nature perfectly and gave her autonomy to pursue her own clients, focusing on product work that better addresses what people need and want. Further inspired by freelance stints at Continuum and a design thinking workshop at IDEO, she now focuses on designing experiences and digital products within larger system contexts, striving for a human-centered design approach.

Jodi served on the board of AIGA Boston for five years as creator and VP of their Emerging Ideas initiative. She has also been a consultant to the Design Department at Lesley University, from prepping seniors for final reviews to advising on a new UX design-based curriculum. Most recently, she joined the Industrial Design department at Wentworth Institute of Technology as an adjunct professor, teaching user experience and user interface design. She also has been lending her time in helping the Independent Film Festival Boston evolve their website, annual marketing campaigns, and is directing a campaign and film intro for their 15th anniversary in 2017. Her interests in interior design, and her own home renovations, are brought to light on her blog, Ourhaus, from which she plans to launch a home decor product line. She lives in Somerville, MA with her husband Christopher and their two adopted pitties, Stella and Toby.
